Lotus Root Kinpira (Renkon no Kinpira)

Ingredient:

1 Lotus Root
2 tablespoon vinegar
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce (or mentsuyu)
1/2 tablespoon dried chili slices
1 tablespoon sesame seeds


Direction:

1. Peel lotus root skin then slice them into 0.5 inch (1cm) thickness.
2. Add vinegar to the cold water then soak lotus root slices for about 1 minute. Avoid oxidying.
3. Heat the pan and add olive oil. Cook lotus root slices over medium heat until its golden brown. I personally like them to be charred.
4. Add chili flakes then drizzle soy sauce (or Mentsuyu dashi infused soy sauce).
5. Sprinkle sesame seeds the serve.
